Tragedy struck yesterday when a 47-year-old
man, Mr. Duke Amos "mistakenly" killed
his wife in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria according to unconfirmed online reports.
Mrs. Cynthia had allegedly beat up her housemaid
only identified as Rosemary for sleeping off after placing a pot of
soup on fire. Reports have it that the housemaid is always maltreated, as
she works her strength out on daily basis, most times she falls
asleep on duty due to too much work she does.
According to the unconfirmed reports she was
beaten mercilessly by Cynthia, Duke’s wife, to a state of coma. Rosemary sustained
severe injuries that led her being hospitalized.
The incidence infuriated the husband who was
not at home when it happened and upon getting home a fight ensued between him
and his wife which led to her death.
Many say it was a spiritual manipulation on
the family as Mr. Duke claimed he only slapped and pushed her to
the wall for being so harsh on someone else’s child.
In his words:
“I came back to hear what happened and I wasn’t
comfortable because
my wife is infamous in maltreatments. I
only pushed her
after a little argument and she gave up.
I didn’t really mean to, I regret it,”
Mr. Duke said in tears as he now has two cases
of injury and murder to
battle with.
He was arrested by the police who visited the
scene after a call from his wife’s brothers.
“The world is full of evil, no one knows the
day of evil”, one of their neighbors reportedly said. “They were one
happy family, but how come a little misunderstanding now marks
an end to a man that was doing well with a 3 bedroom flat, two cars
and three children”
