CORONAVIRUS: 218 POLICE OFFICERS TEST POSITIVE




At least 218 policemen have tested positive for Covid-19 while providing services to prevent the spread the coronavirus in the country.
Of them, 117 are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). In the last 24 hours, 16 police personnel have been infected.
A total of 652 policemen were sent home and to institutional quarantine from March 8 to April 23, sources said.

Besides, three hospitals have already been prepared to ensure their treatment, according to the Police Headquarters.
Coronavirus infected policemen are already being treated in Dhaka's Rajarbag Central Police Hospital with 150-bed facilities.
The other two hospitals are Dhaka Mohanagar General Hospital and Sirajul Islam Medical College and Hospital having a total of 450-bed facilities.

According to police sources, there are plans to rent five more hospitals in five divisional areas for Covid-19 treatment with the same standards as in Dhaka hospitals.
Of the 218 infected patients, 117 are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
