The lead actor in the Oscar award-winning movie “Black Panther”, Chadwick Boseman died on Friday after a four-year long battle with colon cancer.
During those four years, he made remarkable strides in the movie industry globally with top rated movies like “Marshall” and “Black Panther”.
He was survived by his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward who he married secretly last year at the peak of his battle with the cancer.

The House of Representatives has resolved to set up an ad-hoc committee to look into the payment plan of Multichoice and other direct-to-home broadcast service providers to implement a Pay-As-You-Go Tariff Plan.
The lawmakers came to the resolution at plenary on Tuesday.
They expressed concerns that DSTV and other Direct-To-Home Service Providers have deliberately refused to implement the Pay-As-You-Go Tariff Plan but rather charge users on a fixed monthly tariff plan, unlike what is obtainable outside Nigeria.
Representative Idem who raised the motion, informed lawmakers that DSTV operates a Pay-As-You-Go Tariff Plan in other countries but has chosen to exploit Nigerians through a fixed monthly plan.
According to him, Nigeria is the biggest market for DSTV and deserves to be treated better.
The motion was supported by lawmakers who described the action of DSTV as an abuse and unfair treatment to Nigerians.

Popular Nigerian Chef, Chioma Avril Rowland has finally
opened up on rumours alleging she’s being abused by Davido.

rumours and stories for your entertainment and I’ve known from Day 1 what to
expect from blogs and the internet especially with myself and family being in
the public space. I have never once come out to respond to any blogger or react

engage in online battles or pay too much mind to social media.
But I must say I have found quite disturbing the stories of
domestic abuse between myself and David and for once feel a need to speak up.
Domestic violence and abuse is NO JOKE and not something to ever take lightly.
Never has there ever been an incident of abuse in my home. He has never in his
life lifted a finger to touch me and I have never so much as even pushed him. I
believe with everything we peddle as human beings whether offline or online, we

such has never and will never happen. Further, we do not take such allegations

Thunderstorm on Wednesday killed three officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps attached to the Ogun State Sector Command.
The officials were allegedly struck to death at their office located at the Old Ilese Tollgate in the Ijebu North-East Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred around 10am today when the affected FRSC officials were planning for the early morning parade.
It was gathered that there were over 10 officials at the scene of the incident when the thunderstorm struck.
She said, “So, we were informed. But, my sector commander has just gone there to find out what really happened.
“I cannot give any report until when he comes back to give us details of what really happened.”

I recall Abike Dabiri-Erewa, of the Diaspora Affairs
office, taking to social media to tag criminals, who were arrested overseas
"in the line of duty", as Igbo instead of Nigerians. I recall the
backlash that followed that infamous and shameful tagging by a federal
government official.
Folks of other tribes and ethnic stock took to social media
to lampoon Igbos with their ignorance, hate, jealousy and stereotyping.
I remember warning them to be careful because criminals
don't have tribes or ethnicity, but are criminals and they shame all of us.
Ramoni Akanni, aka Hushpuppi, is a Nigerian who has made so
much money via internet fraud, the one we call Yahoo Yahoo. He is not an Igbo
man. And the internet is quiet because he's not Omo Igbo.
He fleeced the American government of $100m. Yes, one
hundred million dollars. No tagging, except from those who are
"retaliating".
He went on a spending spree, bought a $500,000 2020 Rolls
Royce and took to Instagram to celebrate his obscene wealth.
He is always on the internet displaying his loot. And
nobody asked questions as to the source of his wealth. And as they say,
"nobody asked questions when he was poor". Therefore, nobody should
when he gets "rich".
I have read many posts on this guy. It reminds me of the
warning I posted after some Igbo boys were picked up for similar offences:
Invictus Okeke, and many others.
Some tribal jingoistic elements took to Facebook to mock
Igbos and accuse us of "liking/loving money too much that we can do
anything to make money".
Each time I check the lists of thieves, looters,
ritualists, killers, kidnappers, agberoes, liers, wicked people, lying pastors,
lying priests, name them, I see Igbo names; Yoruba names; Hausa/Fulani names;
Ijaw, Efik, Ishekieri, Tiv, Biron, Nupe, Bini, names, etc.
But because some people cannot hide their hate for a
people, once an Igbo man is caught in crime, they go on the offensive. Bayo
Onanuga will tag them: Igbo man bla bla bla.
But today, they're quiet. Nobody is talking or writing.
Like in the US, like in Nigeria. Hatred is everywhere. Racism is as bad as
tribalism. Injustice in Nigeria is the same injustice elsewhere.
But that's a topic for another day.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has painstakingly
launched an investigation on this thief, and has picked him up. What remains
now is to prosecute him and send him to jail where he rightly belongs.
The luck he has is that American jails are better than
ours. They're better than Ajegunle, Alimosho and Mushin Olosha, Aba, Onitsha,
Asaba. You can go to school while in prison. And he may not serve life
sentence. He may even, while in prison, be conducting his illicit
business.
He and Invictus Okeke can team up as Nigerians and enjoy
their incarceration. They won't discriminate against themselves. They're
brothers in crime, joined together by internet stealing.
And when next you see a criminal or read about an arrest of
one, and he's not of your ethnic stock, don't stereotype. There are criminals
everywhere. And when they're caught, they're Nigerians and not Igbo, Hausa,
Yoruba. And they shame you and me. Period.
A people are not bad; only individuals are.

David Glasheen was a stockbroker and a millionaire in

Police arrested Leon Rosby, 52, near the scene of the SWAT stand-off in Hawthorne, about 15 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles. Rosby was walking his Rottweiler, Max, and recording the stand-off with armed robbers on his cell phone camera.
"I never meant my dog to be killed and shot like that," Rosby said later. "He wasn't just shot. He was executed."

A 38-year-old man has been arraigned before a Makurdi Chief
Magistrate court for allegedly raping his seven-month-old daughter.
The man, Mr. Simon Emeka, is alleged to have raped his daughter
Prosper Emeka starting from when she was only 3 months old.
When the case came up in court on Friday, June 5,
prosecuting police officer, Sergeant Friday Kanshio told the court that on June
1st, 2020, one Ms. Josephine Habba of No. 34 Modern Market Road Makurdi
reported the matter at the Nigerian Police Force ‘D’ Division, Makurdi.
Kanshio said Habba had complained that on the same date,
she went to Jestic Hospital in Makurdi with her daughter for treatment and
heard one Mrs Favour Emeka crying and telling a nurse that her seven months old
baby girl named Prosper Emeka was raped by her husband, Simon Emeka. It was
alleged that the accused had been raping the baby since she was three months
old.
Kanshio said during police investigation, the suspect was
arrested for committing the crime which is contrary to sections 391 and 284 of
the penal code law of Benue State.
When the charge was read to him, the accused pleaded not
guilty to the charge. However, no plea was taken for want of jurisdiction.
The prosecuting police officer told the court that
investigation into the matter was still on and asked for another date to enable
the prosecution prove its case.
The trial Magistrate, Mr. Isaac Ajim remanded the accused
at the Nigerian Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to August 31, 2020,
for further mention.

A teacher in Ukraine who tied a pillow to the face of a one
year old girl have been arrested after it made the girl die from vomiting and
suffocation. The nursery school teacher by name Irina Sukhanova, who is 51year
old, was detained by the police in Zaporizhia, Ukraine, as a suspect for
murder.
The paid helper tried to stop the little girl, Alesya, from
crying on her 1st day at the nursery school, after Alesya was bitten by another
child.
The CCTV video shows the carer tying a pillow over the
Alesya's face before making effort to make her sleep.

The little Alesya suffocated from her vomit because her
face was covered with pillow says the police.
Alesya died from gastric obstruction of the respiratory
tract, she lacked Oxygen, after this happened Instead Sukhanova to call an
ambulance, Sukhanova is accused of attempting to delete the CCTV records.
Police tried their best and they restored the video.
During the court room confrontation, the teacher denied
murdering Alesya she said : ''I did not kill your child"
Father of Alesya, Mr Eduard Gak who is 24 year old ,asked
in disbelief: "Did not kill? I saw how you did not kill".
The teacher replied: "You will understand"
Alesya's father Eduard Gak told her: "Shut your
mouth".
The girl's mother Alina, who is 23 year old, said: 'It was
just the first trial visit to the nursery. 'By phone she [Irina] assured me
everything was good, and to look at testimonials about her. 'We really checked
them .'
Also said: 'How could she put the child asleep like this
when she was vomiting?'
Her husband Gak said: 'My wife came home at about 10 am,
and suddenly got a call saying "Your child is not breathing".'
Gak rushed immediately to the nursery school and tried
artificial respiration on his Alesya, but Alesya did not respond he
immediately, called an ambulance.
Gak said: 'She was only slightly warm, 'It doesn't fit into
my head what happened. Can you imagine what I saw? . he asked
Gak continued by saying. 'I cannot explain my emotions when
I saw this. I can't find the words. 'My only one wish is to do the same to her.
The teacher said: The pillow was a guide for the child, so
if she falls, she would not get any injury or break her neck. It was to protect
the child.
The parents Lawyer Teymur Mamedov said: 'Before the arrival
of detectives, she removed the surveillance camera recordings from the hard
drives, and hid the (pillow).
'She undressed the child and tried to hide other traces of
the crime.'
Oleh Hryhorov, a senior police officer said: 'The seized
video and investigations prove the involvement of the owner of an illegal
nursery school in the commission of a particularly serious intentional crime,
murder of a minor.'
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Adeyeye
Babatunde, ”M” of Kajola St., Shagamu, Ogun State, for kissing his three-year
old step sister in a viral video.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala
Elkana, in a statement on Friday, said that Babatunde is a Botany student of
Lagos State University, Ojo.
“The state Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu,
directed detectives from the Gender Unit to analyse the video and apprehend the
suspect.
“The team got the suspect and he has been handed over to
the State Criminal Investigation Department, for diligent prosecution in court.
“The CP expresses gratitude to Nigerians who helped in
bringing the incident to the notice of the police, and urged everyone to
continue to speak out against sexual and gender-based violence,” Elkana said.

The administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma is
less than five months old in office. What are your feelings about it?
As far as I am concerned, any government is God’s gift to
the people. It is God that puts people in any position at any particular time. Therefore,
my opinion is that it is the doing of the Lord. People should support Hope
Uzodinma.
Like people have said, I have the feeling also that the
governor has started well. And I heard the governor said he started work from
where my husband stopped. He said he is my husband’s incarnate. So, my opinion
is that since he is my husband’s incarnate, he will act like my husband. So, I
believe the governor will do good work just like my husband did in his time. He
will do good work that will help Imo people; do something that will make the
people happy.
And if what he said is the truth, then my husband loved the
people of Imo. Everywhere he was, he loved them. What I am telling the current
governor is that since he has made that statement, he should act like my
husband by loving his people, do whatever that will make them happy and
comfortable. So far, he has started well and I hope he will continue.

Can you tell us one or two things you have
heard about Governor Uzodinma?
As I said, he has said he is Mbakwe’s incarnate. That is
good. Another thing is that he has started doing some work, repairing what my
husband had started. Again, he has shown great difference between him and other
past governors. This makes me believe his statement that he is my husband’s
incarnate. I will also give him applause having sent his team ahead to come and
see me. It is a good start. None of the past governors has come here to see me.
So, this is a very good sign and I like that.
Your husband had ruled Imo State as governor between
1979 and 83. He is also the one regarded as the best Imo State governor. Are
you worried that his record is yet to be broken?
Nobody wants his child to remain static without growing. So
I am very annoyed and very much worried about it. Whenever I hear that nobody
has surpassed my husband’s record, I feel sad. I want Imo to grow.

Recently, Governor Uzodinma abolished pension
and gratuities for former governors and deputy governors. What is your opinion
on this?
I don’t know much about that. But all the same, it is the
right thing to do, because if a governor finishes his term and goes to the
Senate or House of Representatives and he is earning money here and there, I
don’t think it is fair. So, I think I like that action the governor has taken.
I like it very much.
The truth is this: if one finishes as a governor and goes
to the Senate, I don’t think it is fair for the person to earn salary or
pension as governor and at the same time take salary as a senator. He should
take one. That is where I am worried. If he as former governor goes to the
Senate to earn salary and at the same time earns pension or gratuities, this is
not fair.
You must think about the masses. We have a lot of poor
people around us, and part of the money should be used to solve some other
problems. It is good if somebody finishes and he is given pension, provided he
is not going from there to the Senate and earns money there. I don’t think it
is right to earn here and there while some people are suffering.
When your husband was the governor, he
established some industries and today, the industries are moribund. How do you
feel when you learn that these industries are going down?
I was a part of the works done in those days, because they
say behind every successful man, there is a successful woman. Then, I was
helping my husband. I must tell you I am not happy to see all those factories
going down. It doesn’t give anybody happiness at all. It doesn’t give me
happiness because I know the efforts my husband made to put the industries in
place. I think people should continue from where others stopped. And with that,
there will be progress. But without continuity, there will be a problem. That
is why we are having the problems we are having today as if everywhere is at a
standstill. I am not happy about this development.
As a former First Lady, if you were to advise
Governor Uzodinma as your husband’s incarnate, what areas would you want him
improve upon?
I won’t say others before him did not do anything. I’m sure
they did something. There is nobody that came without doing one thing or the
other. But what I am against is when a governor starts a good project, it
should be continued. However, I want Governor Uzodinma to continue with roads,
water and electricity. These are very important to the people.
Of course, let the governor continue with anything that is
good for the people. He should work with love as my husband did to Imo people.
Let him carry everybody along in love. If he does it, I’m sure everything will
be alright.
What is your advice to the people who go about
vandalizing government projects such as happened recently at the Otamiri Water
Works where some hoodlums damaged government property worth millions of naira?
In the first place, it is wrong for anybody to destroy
public property or vandalise the good work of the government which is for the
good and benefit of the people. Whoever vandalises such projects is not a
friend of Imo people. So, I am against such vandalisation. I say they should
stop it.
Recently, Governor Uzodinma resuscitated
Adapalm Plantation. Are you happy hearing some of these good news coming from
the government?
I am absolutely happy. I want such good work to continue. I
want my people, as my husband used to call Imo people, to be happy. Therefore,
anything that will make them happy, I will support.
What is your message to Imo people?
My message to Imo people now is they should know that every
government is sent by God, and any person who comes to the throne at a
particular time is the Lord’s wish, because without God’s wish, that person
will not be there.
Therefore, I will ask the people to support the government
of Uzodinma so that he will do better. If you support somebody, he will be
happy to do more. But if you don’t support him, that is when the person relaxes
and may not feel the urge to bring out his best.
So, I will urge Imo people to support Hope Uzodinma because
right now, he is the person on the seat.
