Donald J Trump based a large part of his campaign on his perceived ways of ''making America great again" These according to him include building a wall between the US and Mexico to stop the influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico who he called rapists and murderers, deporting over 11 million Latinos who are staying illegally in the US, banning Muslims from entering the US and re-introducing the stop and frisk method of policing in black and Hispanic communities.
These proposals were seen as racist and discriminatory by the Democrats and the minorities themselves and formed the main talking points at all Hillary Clinton's rallies with the aim of using these to gain the trust and votes of the minorities.
But perhaps unknown to the Hillary camp, these Trump's proposed "racist" actions were actually what the majority white voters from both parties had been yearning for! Somehow Donald Trump discovered there was still deep seated racism in most whites in America and decided to use that to his advantage at the polls. A white supremacists group, the KKK, even openly endorsed him days before the polls, though he immediately denounce them. But the message had been sent already.
And it worked! It is now left to be seen how and if he will carry out these promises that appealed to his racist supporters.
