Popular Nigerian Singer and entertainer, D’banj and wife Lineo Didi have lost their son, Daniel.

Daniel Oyebanjo III who turned a year in May died on Sunday after he drowned inside a pool at Dbanj’s residence in ikoyi, Lagos State.

D’banj took to his Instagram page with a black image post to confirm the death, writing: “Trying Times. But my God is Always and Forever Faithful."

It was learnt that D’banj was in Los Angeles to attend the 2018 BET Awards when the tragedy occurred.

It was gathered that the remains of the child have been moved to the morgue.

Last Sunday the 10th of June, 2018 a lady was reported to have parked a Ford SUV on a spot on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, Nigeria and jumped to her death in the Lagos Lagoon. When the news broke on social media there was some disbelief in some quarters while some readily believed the story considering that this bridge has become notorious as a suicide spot following previous cases.

Though the details are still sketchy, it was learnt the deceased woman could have been involved in an illicit affair with another married man who later started blackmailing her armed with her nude pictures. According to undisclosed sources, the woman was married to a man simply identified as Tunde who resides abroad with their three children but she was having an affair with another man back home in Nigeria. Somehow her husband got to hear about the affair and was naturally mad. He asked for paternity tests to be carried out on his children only to find out that he was not the father of any one of them!

At the same time, the illicit affair between the woman and her married lover hit the rocks and when she tried to recover her money of about 10 million naira which she one way or the other had in the man's possession he threatened to release her nude pictures. When he eventually did so, she was devastated and decided to end it all.

WOMAN KILLS HUSBAND, 2 SONS AND SELF IN A HOTEL ROOM

A mother, father and their two young sons were shot to death early Monday at a Southeast Texas beachfront hotel in what police are investigating as a triple killing followed by a suicide in which the woman was the shooter. CBS affiliate KHOU reports Flor de Maria Pineda, husband Mauricio Morales, their 10-year-old son Mauricio, Jr. and 5-year-old son David all died on the eighth floor of the San Luis hotel in Galveston Monday.

Investigators said Flor shot her husband, two sons then turned the gun on herself.

Galveston police Capt. Josh Schirard said the family from Baytown about 35 miles  north of Galveston checked in Sunday evening at the San Luis Resort.

Police were summoned to the upscale 250-room hotel on the Gulf of Mexico after a guest in a nearby room on the eighth floor called police about 4:30 a.m. and reported popping sounds. Officers entered the locked room and found the man and two boys in bed with apparent gunshot wounds and the woman on the floor, also with a gunshot wound.

When police arrived at the room, the door was dead-bolted from the inside and they heard "faint moaning," KHOU reports.

The woman and one of the children were "unresponsive but still appeared to be alive" and were taken to a hospital where they both died, Schirard said, adding that neither was ever able to speak.

"A motive is unknown at this time, but forensic data collected at the scene indicated the female is believed to be the shooter at this time before apparently taking her own life with a 9 mm handgun found adjacent to her body," Schirard said. "There's no indication or evidence that there are any other persons involved or that there are any other suspects still at large."

Authorities said no issues were apparent before the family checked in, and nothing about the condition of the room indicated there was a struggle.

"My heart goes out to the rest of their family, their extended family, their community and our community, the ones that don't have the training to deal with this and have to be exposed to an event like this," Schirard said.

Psychologists and others who have studied cases of mothers accused of killing their children have said it's not as uncommon as people might believe. But media coverage often focuses on dramatic cases, such as Andrea Yates who was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the 2001 drowning deaths of her five children in Houston.

News of the tragedy stunned neighbors, KHOU reported.

"She was very friendly," neighbor Shirley Davis aid of Flor de Maria Pineda. "She waved at us. Her husband was very friendly. And Daniel and Mauricio they would ride their little bicycles, little tricycles on my driveway and if they saw me outside they would get off those bikes and come hug me. (It) meant more than a lot just to see the little young people so in love with you."

Paula White, a prosperity gospel preacher with close ties to President Donald Trump, is calling on followers to send her donations of up to one month’s salary. Those who don’t pay up could face “consequences” from God as he demands the dough as a “first fruits” offering.

“The reason is God lays claim to all firsts,” White wrote on her website. “So when you keep for yourself something that belongs to God you are desecrating what is to be consecrated to God.”

In this case, the “firsts” are money, which “supernaturally unlocks amazing opportunity, blessing, favor and divine order for your life.”

White, who is chairwoman of Trump’s evangelical advisory committee, claims she contributes a month’s pay every year as a “seed,” which according to prosperity gospel is supposed to grow into riches and other blessings. She’s also calling on others to contribute their own firsts, in the form of wages for a day, week or entire month: 

 

“When you honor this principle it provides the foundation and structure for God’s blessings and promises in your life, it unlocks deep dimensions of spiritual truths that literally transform your life! When you apply this everything comes in divine alignment for His plan and promises for you. When you don’t honor it, whether through ignorance or direct disobedience there are consequences.”

While White said these firsts “belong to God and God alone,” she wants them sent to her in the form of offerings to her ministries. 

White delivered a prayer at Trump’s inauguration, where she called on God to give the president “the confidence to lead us in justice and righteousness, and the compassion to yield to our better angels.”
