BREAKING NEWS: UCHE OGAH, OTHERS ARRAIGNED FOR FORGERY AND FRAUD!

Uche Ogah

Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, the man who accused the governor of Abia state Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of forgery and was declared governor by a federal high court based on that, has himself been arraigned before a magistrate court in Lagos for alleged forgery and fraud!
The police on Thursday arraigned the President of an oil firm, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Uche Ogah, and an ex-employee of the United Bank for Africa, Deji Somoye, before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for alleged fraud.

The oil firm and the bank were also joined in three counts bordering on forgery and conspiracy preferred against the defendants by the police.
The police said Ogah allegedly forged a Memorandum of Understanding between Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited and Mut-Hass Petroleum Limited sometime in March 2011.

He and some other persons said to be at large were also accused of forging the signature of one Mrs. Bridget Adeosun.

The alleged forgery was reportedly committed in Ikeja, Lagos.
The police also alleged that the bank aided Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited to open an account in the name of Mut-Hass Petroleum to perpetrate a fraud without applying its internal control procedures in the opening of the account.

The police had claimed that UBA allowed the said account to be opened sometime in 2011 at its regional office in Palmgrove, Lagos, in breach of the provisions of the Financial Institutions Act 2004.
The defendants were brought before a Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Kikelomo Ayeye, by a police prosecutor, ASP Henry Obiazi.

Obiazi told the court that the offences contravened sections 363 (3)(u), 408 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The charges read in part, “That you, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Uche Ogah, and others at large sometime in March 2011 at Ikeja, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to wit: forgery.

“That you, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Uche Ogah, and others at large, on the same date, time, place and in the aforementioned magisterial district, did forge the signature of one Mrs. Bridget Adeosun and a document known as MoU between Mut-Hass Petroleum Limited and Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, with an intent that it may be in any way used or acted upon as genuine.

“That you, Deji Somoye, United Bank for Africa and others still at large, sometime in August 2011, at UBA regional office, Palmgrove, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did knowing that Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited design to commit an offence, failed to use all reasonable means to prevent the commission or the completion of the crime.”

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and were admitted to bail in the sum of N200,000 each with one surety each in like sum.

The case was adjourned till August 4, 2016.

These politicians obviously do not give a damn about the law dictum which says "he who must come to equity must come with clean hands"

RED ALERT: APC WANTS ABIA STATE BY ALL MEANS!

Ogah receives certificate from INEC

There are strong indications that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) wants to perform the same magic they performed in several states and Kogi state in particular again. This time it's happening in Abia State where the governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has been asked to vacate his mandate and Mr. Uche Ogah who did not contest in the main election has been given the certificate of return to replace him. The electoral body INEC issued the certificate in disregard of the appeal filed on behalf of the governor by his counsels and the stay of execution granted by the appeal court pending the determination of the appeal. While briefing the press after issuing the certificate the INEC national commissioner in charge of the south east, Amb. Lawrence Nwuruku said the commission only obeyed lawful order of a court. Nwuruku added that as a citizen, he could go to jail if he flouts a valid court order. He said if the court tomorrow orders a reversal of the action, INEC would not hesitate to do its bidding. “The situation is that we are simply obeying the court order. The court said with immediate effect without wasting of time, we should issue him Certificate of Return and that is what we have done – to obey the court order. If the court tomorrow issues another order, we would obey the same. By the grace of God, I am the INEC Commissioner in charge of South East. I’ll do the same thing if the court orders us to do so. If court says we should issue the same certificate to another person. In this case, court ordered us to issue a Certificate of Return to the person who won the election and that is Uche Ogah. I was the person who gave the Certificate of Return to Gov. Ikpeazu as he was declared winner".

Governor Ikpeazu

The question now is which election did Uche Ogah win that INEC and the Federal High Court are referring to? Is it the primaries which he lost or the main election which he did not contest by virtue of the first loss? Moreover the electoral law is very clear on this. You have to contest the main election not just the primaries to be able to lay any claim to the position contested for.It is very clear and obvious that powers that be (and many are sure its the ruling APC) are secretly pushing the man from behind the scene while using our corrupt legal system as a willing tool and making it appear to be a PDP crisis. It is believed that once this is achieved the man will immediately cross-carpet to APC to pay back his sponsors as is typical of Nigerian politics.

Uche Ogah

As we write efforts are being made by the Uche Ogah camp to have him sworn in but this has been scuttled by another court injunction which has forbidden the Chief Judge or any Judge in the federation from carrying out the exercise pending the determination of the appeal.

HOW OJO MADUEKWE DIED

Contrary to reports making the rounds that the late Secretary, Board of trustees of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria died in his house it has been revealed he died in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja. Many sites including the popular Sahara Reporters had falsely reported he died at home.

                                                          OJO MADUEKWE 1945-2016

But a close family source has given us a confirmed version of his last moments. He was said to have complained of some discomfort towards the end of his flight from the US where he had gone for a routine medical check up and also to attend his son's graduation ceremony. He was taken straight to the hospital from the airport in Abuja and never made it home alive. He died just as the medical staff were preparing to put an oxygen mask on him. Another source also revealed he travelled with the Emirate airline which takes a longer route and flying time considering the stop over at Dubai International Airport insinuating flight fatigue could have worsened matters.

His wife is turning 70 tomorrow and plans were in top gear to celebrate her birthday!

May his soul rest in peace.

MR PRESIDENT'S HEALTH: MATTERS ARISING

When news broke earlier in the week that the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari had requested for 10 days leave of absence to enable him travel to the United Kingdom for a medical consultation relating to an ear infection, quite a number of people were really agitated and dismayed. This is readily attributed to the fact that this is the second time in six months Mr President is making such a trip in contrast to his campaign promises one of which was to reduce medical tourism to the minimum and save the country huge sums of money in foreign exchange. It is even more disturbing considering the ailment is what many see as not life threatening and can be easily treated locally. More so, notable persons either undergoing investigations or trials for corruption allegations have been denied their request to be allowed to travel abroad for medical reasons. One of them actually collapsed in court during one of his appearances but the judge hearing his application insisted he should be able to get help locally. This could be understandable since these people are facing corruption charges and could escape if allowed to travel out. But what people cannot seem to understand is why Mr President should be in the lead of breaking one of his campaign promises.

                                                                  PRESIDENT BUHARI

An answer of some sorts came yesterday when unconfirmed reports filtered in saying he has been diagnosed with cancer of the ear and brain! It suddenly is becoming clearer. The many months of speculations on his health status before, during and after the elections may have finally come to an end with many seeing it as the end of a deceitful era. The ruling party has always insisted the President was medically fit and free of any serious ailment even when the rumors came out prior to the election that the man was struggling with his health. Even up to last week his spokesman, Femi Adeshina said he was not sick and was just travelling for a vacation.

Like they did in the Federal Executive Council meeting yesterday, let us all continue to put the President's health and the general well being of the country in prayers.
